How we turned one of sport's most famous stories, the 1988 Jamaican bobsled team, into a speaker website built for event planners: a keynote page for each main audience, video that shows the room's reaction and a way to check Devon's dates on every page.

Devon grew up in Olympic Gardens in Kingston, Jamaica, graduated from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and became a founding member of the 1988 Jamaican bobsled team that inspired the film Cool Runnings. He went on to compete in three Winter Olympic Games and now speaks to companies, associations and schools about his Keep On Pushing philosophy.

The brief
Devon's story is known around the world. The job of his website is to show a planner, in one screen, what he brings to their event. A planner choosing a speaker for a sales kickoff, a leadership meeting or a school assembly needs more than a great story. They need to know what their people will take away, see proof that audiences respond and find a quick way to check dates and fees.
The goal for devonharris.com was simple: keep the story front and center, then show every type of planner exactly how Devon fits their event, in Devon's own voice, and make the next step obvious on every page.
What we built
1
A "Now booking" bar, the speaker reel near the top, a trusted-by logo strip, key numbers and a "Check availability" button that follows the visitor down the page.
2
Separate pages for resilience, sales kickoffs, leadership, DEI and opening and closing keynotes, plus pages by industry: technology, healthcare, pharmaceutical, financial advisors, associations and schools.
3
90-second previews where Devon speaks to each type of event, real "inside the room" moments and video testimonials filmed minutes after he left the stage.
4
Short clips of Devon working an event's theme and its leaders' goals into the keynote, so planners hear exactly what they'll get.
5
A Speaking Kit with his bio, photos, introduction and stage needs, a client list, testimonials and an availability form that covers dates, fees and travel.
6
Keynote pages structured around the searches planners make, and a Keep On Pushing newsletter sign-up that keeps past audiences close.
The work
Corporate events, conferences and schools book Devon for different reasons, so each gets its own path through the site.
Conference keynotes
Devon on stage at an industry conference, with the 1988 team on screen.
Schools and universities
Schools and universities have their own page, separate from corporate keynotes.
Corporate events
Sales kickoffs and leadership meetings, each with its own keynote page.

For planners
✓
Planners see what Devon speaks on, who it is for and how to book him, within the first screen.
✓
Every keynote and audience has its own page, so a planner searching for a resilience or sales kickoff keynote lands on the right talk.
✓
Video replaces adjectives: planners watch the room stand up, chant and laugh before they ever send an inquiry.
✓
A "Check Devon's dates" button stays in view as planners scroll, so interest turns into inquiries instead of tabs left open.

Lessons for your website
01
Most planners know the Cool Runnings story. They still need to know what Devon does for their sales team or school. Lead with the outcome, then the story.
02
A reel proves you can speak. Audience reactions and testimonials filmed straight after the talk prove you're worth booking.
03
One page per topic and audience helps planners self-select and gives Google and AI tools something specific to recommend.
04
A visible availability button and a form that asks for date, audience and budget turn browsers into real inquiries.
